Dear Raenelle,

I feel as though I am being bombarded with poster showing how great our leaders are. Everywhere I look, I see pictures of Stalin and Lenin, their so-called heroicness shown to the masses. It sickens me.

You see, these men are not heroes. Not by a long shot. They are athiest! I fear for my life, Raenelle! They are beginning to persecute the Christians. I fear I may never be able to write to you again if I am found to be supporting our Lord. I pray that they do not want to hurt me but I think I know the truth.

Dear Raenelle,

The government is now controlling our money. They took my friend Vlad's business and took some of his money. Stalin is the mind behind all of this! He have these plans that I do not agree with! He's giving bonuses to only those businesses which succeed. Who knows what will happen if Vlad's business begins to fail!

I am deeply worried. It used to be we supported ourselves and our families. Now it seems we are supposed to support not just us but also the poor and needy. I don't mind helping out, but to be forced to do so? Where are we supposed to do our good works? Pray to God, my friend, that this does not get worse.

Dear Raenelle,

Oh how awful my country has become! Everywhere I turn, soldiers are gearing up to fight. The young lads here seem to think they will be able to change the world! Bah! The death that is to come from the coming revolution.

A man named Vladimir Lenin is to be in change soon. Everyone believe he is to make a difference. I, on the other hand, feel such gut wrenching terror when I see him. I do not know why, but I feel he will worsen this country. I pray that I am wrong for the sake of my children and theirs to come.

Dear Raenelle,



I am in a dreadful state. Stalin is ruining my work. He forces me, along with my fellow artists, to paint the corrupt goverment and its officials in a light that makes them seem almost heroic. Bah! I can see through his horrible tactics. His lies are corrupting our society!



I have been told that us artists are alllowed to point out mistakes in our government through our work as long as the main goal of the painting is to promote the government. Would you point your views out in a world where everyone has been brainwashed by the most evil ruler of all? I think not. My life is spiraling down because of this government. I think I may become a cobbler instead.

Dear Raenelle,

I am writing to you on my death bed. It may seem sudden to most of my people, but I have known. I am letting you know beforehand, my friend, that Trotsky and Djugashvili are the chief contenders to replace me. I have no opinion of Trotsky at the moment, but of Djugashvili I have many.

Djugashvili is a man who knows what he wants and will do everything in his power to get it. He may have studied to be a holy man in his youth, but times have changed. The revolution has turned him into a mad man! He is taking advantage of the system. I know not the plans of this man. Perhaps he will change for the better, or perhaps he will take a turn for the worse and put people in positions they are not qualified to work.

Only time shall tell.

The Evil Grigori Rasputin

Our Plan

Dear Raenelle,

I have decided to partake in the scheme to kill Grigori Rasputin. He is an evil man who has a huge influence on Tsar Nicholas II, his wife Tsarita Alexandra, and their son Tsarevich Alexei. They do not see him for the evil man he really is. He raped a nun for goodness sakes! I can not see how the royal family can not see the ruthlessness of Rasputin.

Our plan is very simple. We have laced cakes and wine with cyanide. Brilliant, no? Yes, four others and myself have taken it upon ourselves to rid the world of this demon. If, and it is highly unlikely due to the poisonous nature of the administered drugs, one of my buddies will shoot him with a revolver. Yes, our plan will succeed. We will be legend for taking the life of the "Mad Monk."
