Dear Raenelle,
I am in a dreadful state. Stalin is ruining my work. He forces me, along with my fellow artists, to paint the corrupt goverment and its officials in a light that makes them seem almost heroic. Bah! I can see through his horrible tactics. His lies are corrupting our society!
I have been told that us artists are alllowed to point out mistakes in our government through our work as long as the main goal of the painting is to promote the government. Would you point your views out in a world where everyone has been brainwashed by the most evil ruler of all? I think not. My life is spiraling down because of this government. I think I may become a cobbler instead.

Ah, the artist's perspective...and a skeptic, at that! It's too bad the pictures wouldn't post but I looked at the URLs you included and they fit nicely. The second picture is disgustingly perky, isn't it? That one's Polish, but it is a good example.
